A  trip down memory lane… 18 months of my Little A’s life through pictures… “Making the decision to have a child – it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” -Elizabeth Stone

Walk This Way

Walk This Way

Lately, we have been ditching the stroller and going for walks instead. It started as an attempt to really tire A out in hopes of sleeping through the night. But, walking with A has quickly become one of my favorite things to do together! She has places to go and things to see! How cute is she, walking with her hands up, and often clapping when she gets excited? I really wish I could get inside her head and know what…

My Toddler Doesn’t Play With Toys

My Toddler Doesn’t Play With Toys

My 15-month-old daughter has so many toys. They are all over our house, in cubbies, baskets, and bins. Since I only clean for company, they are usually all over the floor too! But, does she ever actually play with them?  Nope. This is a fairly new thing for us. A’s stopped playing with her toys over the last few weeks. I can’t figure out why! Too many? Not enough? What is Childhood?

What is Childhood?

It’s laughter and tears. It’s toys on the floor and unmade beds. It’s kisses for boo-boos and “All better!” It’s running in the rain and jumping in puddles. It’s dirt under fingernails. It’s mud pies and tree forts. It’s playing house. It’s dress up. It’s bubble baths and bedtime stories. It’s picking dandelions for mama. It’s piggy back rides with daddy. It’s holding hands. It’s high fives. It’s hugs. It’s innocence. It’s carefree. It’s happiness. It’s endless love. It’s fleeting.

Living Arrows 32/52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”-Kahlil Gibran A has loved playing with her Mega Bloks recently. She hasn’t figured out how to put them together yet. Mostly, she likes to pull them apart or hand them to us to build something for her. She also has discovered that knocking down tall block towers is pretty awesome!  While playing together the other day, she crawled to the box, and decided to plop herself…

Living Arrows 31/52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”-Kahlil Gibran   On vacation this week, we explored the Arboretum at James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Virginia. While walking around the pond, we came across these friendly ducks. A watched them, so seriously, and I just wonder what she must have been thinking! The ducks were probably hoping we would share some yummy snacks…but, unfortunately, we didn’t have anything for them.
